2009 Farm Stock Tractor
Rules
1.
No
consumption of alcoholic beverages or narcotics in track or pit area. Failure
to observe rules will result in removal from track or pit area with no refund
of entry fee also will be barred from pulling with this organization for one
full year.
2.
All
contestants must be 12 years of age with written parental consent through age
18. All drivers must wear shoes that completely cover the foot (no sandals) , shirt, long pants, and helmet before they are permitted
to compete.
3.
Judges
have the right to re-weigh or re-tech any tractor anytime during or after the
pull.
4.
All
engine fans must be shrouded with factory shroud or minimum of 1/16” thick
steel.
5.
No
weight may extend more than 24” beyond the most forward point of the tractor.
6.
The
tractor tires must remain in the boundaries of the contest course.
7.
Minimum
draw bar length of 18” from the center of the rear axle to the point of hook.
Draw bar must be stationary in all directions. Maximum height
of 20” from top of hitching device parallel to the ground. Clevis to be measured to the center.
8.
Draw
bar to be equipped with steel hitching device not more than 1.5” thick and a 3”
diameter opening. Cross sectional thickness must be measured 7/8” minimum to
1.5” maximum. Pulling point must not be more than 1.5”
from back edge of the pulling device.
9.
No
pressurized tanks unless UL approved. No nitrous oxide, no oxygen, or propane.
10. All tractors must
compete using the fuel tractor was intended by the factory.
11. All tractors
competing must run under a working governor.
12. No portion of the
tractor may interfere with any portion of the sled or the sled hitching device
during the pull. This includes weights.
13. All weights must be
secured to the tractor (no tarp straps). No weights permitted on the seat or
deck, this includes cab tractors. Any ballast or external parts lost while
hooked to the sled will be cause for disqualification of that class, excludes
internal parts.
14. All tractors must
be equipped with workable rear brakes. Use of torque
converters, power shifts, etc. Is permitted.
15. Contestant has 100’
to the front of the tractor to decide on change of gear, one restart per class.
No restart permitted in a pull off.
16. Driver must be in
total control of the tractor at all times wheel while pulling and operate in a
safe manner or be disqualified at the discretion of the flag person.
17. Tractor must be
stopped upon signal from either track official. Pull is considered over when
forward motion of the sled stops, no hole digging
allowed.
18. All tractors must
be in neutral or park transmission selector while being hooked and unhooked.
19. The number one
puller will be the test puller, and may take the pull if the working condition
of the weight machine is satisfactory. Driver will have the option to take the
pull or drop to the sixth pulling position. All decisions on re-pulls must be
made before the tractor leaves the track. In the event the weight transfer is
changed there is no option to drop.
20. Each contestant may
spot the sled for their pull. Contestant must notify tract official or sled
operator before the sled is backed into start position.
21. All contestants
must pull in position drawn within 3 minutes of sled spotting or will be
disqualified. Track officials must be notified of any delays, and then the
contestant may become last puller.
22. All pulls must
start with a tight hitch, no jerking.
23. Violation of any
rule will result in automatic disqualification. Track official has the right to
stop and disqualify any tractor at any time. Disqualification for any tech
reason during a pulling event will lose all points and moneys for that event.
24. Registration closes
at the start of the first class, unless due to traffic conditions. Judges decision to be final.
25. No bracing above
center of the rear axle unless cradled, except complete factory setup.
26.
Farm
stock classes are but not limited to; 7500#, 9500#, 11000#, 13000#. No tractor
can compete in more than 2 weight classes.
27. All classes must
have a hood, grill, and fenders.
28. A pace tractor may
be used operating at 3mph in classes in 7500# and 9500#, 5mph for 11000#,13000#.
Pace tractor driver will start even with center of front wheel and not go any
further than that point during the pull. If puller passes driver of the,
shoulder to shoulder method, puller will be disqualified.
29. There will be a 3000-rpm
limit on all classes.
30. Tire size limited
to 24.5 wide and 42 high maximum.
31. Contest open to two
wheel drive farm stock tractors with rubber tires. No sharpened tires, no dual
tires, no studs or chains permitted. Four wheel drive tractors are permitted if
front wheels are disengaged.
32. Tractor motor and
chassis must confirm with one another, including carburetor and injection
system, electric supply pumps are permitted.
33. No tractor may pull
more than once in any class.
34. A minimum of three
tractors to qualify as a class. A.H.P.A. members pull regardless.
35. All A.H.P.A.
members will pull under farm stock rules for points to be kept on the tractor.
36. Points pulls are
all A.H.P.A. sanctioned events.
37. No rules will be
changed or over looked through out the year, unless for safety reasons.
38. Failure to obey
either flag person will result in disqualification of that class.
39. Any fighting will
result in removal from grounds without refund of any entry fees and prize
moneys.
40. A majority of
yearly pulls per class is required to qualify for any end of year trophy.
41. Tractors are
required to have a working PTO.
42. Add on turbo is
permitted, no bigger than a 3LM housing with a 3”
inlet maximum and 3" outlet. Other turbo must be factory equipped size and
specs. Limit of one turbo.
43. Any tractor competing with a turbo charger must have two 3/8" grade 5 bolts in the exhaust as close to the turbo outlet as possible. These bolts must be installed within 1" of each other and at a 90 degree angle to one another to form an "X" pattern.
