Allegheny Highland Pulling Association traces it's beginning to a wintry evening in 1983 with a small group of individuals gathered around a wood stove socializing. Discussion centered on creation of an organized group to conduct and promote local farm stock tractor pulling events. The original purpose was to provide friends and neighbors friendly, informal competition among daily working farm tractors. In 1988 the group was incorporated as a non-profit organization with elected officers and a Board of Directors. Located in the rising terrain leading directly to the Allegheny Mountain Range, "Allegheny Highland Pulling Assoc. Inc." was adopted as the new group name. The membership now standing at approximately at 100 members.

The need for a beginner's level of competition arose in 1987. We then started pulling garden tractors, this originally was formed to start out the younger enthusiasts and get them involved in the sport at a earlier age. The sport then took off into a widely  popular class for all ages, and is among a crowd favorite wherever we pull.

The organization then sought out the equipment to enable us to provide quality pulling entertainment to area fairs. We currently can offer fair boards and other local organizations a complete pulling event package. The club owns two weight transfer sleds, scales, scraper, and a  roller. With this equipment we currently do several county fairs along with numerous local town fairs. We also promote our own events.

Rules and schedule for the 2008 pulling season are now updated. Next meeting May 21st, 7:30 pm at the Cochranton American Legion.
