10,000 LB. ‘Hot Farm’ Stock Tractors

The rules promulgated in these rules are intended as guidelines for the sport of “HOT FARM” STOCK tractor pulling.   Each owner or driver who participates in pulling events operated under these rules is fully responsible for the safety of his equipment.   Nothing herein should be construed as a guarantee against injury or death to participants, crewmen, family members, bystanders or spectators.   Each participant at a Allegheny Highland Pulling Association Inc.  pulling event must assure that their equipment and replacement equipment throughout the season meets the safety requirements for this class.

 

  1. All tractors must be stock in appearance from front to rear. All hoods, grills, fenders, and frame must be stock appearing for make and model being pulled. Tractor must have stock block or its replacement.

  2. Wide Front ends only.  The front end will be located in the factory position.

  3. Engine size limited to 640 Cubic inches.

  4. Turbo must match make and model of tractor or may be no larger than a 3LM 466.  The compressor housing will have a maximum 2.9" I.D. of intake and 2.0" O.D. outlet.  The exhaust housing will be no larger than 360 with a maximum outlet of 3.06 I.D.

  5. Exhaust pipes off of turbo must have cross bolts in pipes a minimum of 3/8" in diameter and grade #5 hard or better. Exhaust must discharge vertically.

  6. Tractor must have either the stock pump for that make and model or a maximum of an A pump.  Legality of the injector pump is based on the visual inspection of the outside housing and not the inner workings of the injector pump. PUMPS:   Only one plunger per cylinder and one injector per cylinder are permitted.

  7. OEM stock intake and exhaust manifolds must be used for that series engine (alterations for turbo mounting ONLY are allowed).

  8. No pressurized fuel tanks allowed.  Diesel is the only acceptable fuel.

  9. Water for cooling purposes of the turbo will be permitted, no types of accelerants or oxygen extenders or the like will be permitted.

  10. Front weights may not extend more than 11 feet from center of rear axle to the front of weights. Rear weights may not extend more than 6" past rear tires, and in no way interfere with hooking device or being able to hook and unhook the tractor from the sled.

  11. Tractors must be equipped with steel hitching device not more than 1.5" thick and with a 3.5" diameter opening. Cross sectional thickness must be measured 7/8" minimum to 1.5" max. Pulling point must not be more than 1.5" from back edge of the pulling device.

  12. Tractors must hitch to a stationary draw bar with a maximum 20" height, and a minimum of 18" from the center of rear axle to the hitch point, no clevises.

  13. Cut tires are permitted.

  14. Maximum tire size of 20.8 x 38.

  15. If weights, excess fluids or any part of the tractor falls off during pull, that pull disqualified. Tarp straps are not allowed anywhere on the tractor.

  16. No more than one person is permitted on the tractor at any time.

  17. Driver must remain seated and have at least one hand on the wheel at all times.  Driver may not leave the seat of the tractor when it is running.

  18. All tractors in this class must have wheelie bars that are able to support the weight of the tractor.

  19. All engine fans must be shrouded with factory shroud or minimum of 1/16" thick steel.

  20. All tractors must have a safety kill switch or an air shutoff accessible to the driver while operating the tractor.

  21. All tractors must have a double spring loaded throttle.  One spring on the injector pump and one spring on the hand throttle.

  22. All tractors must have a 2.5 lb. dry chemical fire extinguisher accessible to the driver while operating the tractor.

  23. Roll-over Protection System (ROPS) required.  A cage is NOT necessary.

  24. Driver must wear a motor sport designed helmet.  (Snell 80 or higher)

  25. All drivers must wear leather shoes, long pants and an approved racing jacket when hooked to the sled.

  26. SFI approved Flywheel blankets, .060 Inch thick aluminum side shields, SFI approved Clutch blanket and a dead man's throttle are required in this class. Performance clutch assembly and flywheel. NO CAST IRON CLUTCH PARTS.

  27. Tractors must have safety tie bars mounted to rear axle housing with at least 4 bolts axle housing and extend forward of the flywheel area and fastened to the side of the block or main frame with at least 2 5/8" bolts. Tie bars must be of sufficient strength to support the weight of tractor with the bolts used to split the tractor is removed. Safety blankets must be on the inside of the tie bars and tie bars must be fastened forward of the rear of the engine block.

  28. "Hot Farm" tractors are not permitted pull in any farm stock or antique classes operated by Allegheny Highland Pulling Association Inc.

  29. All officials will be certified.   All decisions of the officials are FINAL.

  30. Operation of contest will be by current Allegheny Highland Pulling Association rules.

  31. Rules may be reviewed and or altered for the betterment of the class by the committee of Allegheny Highland Pulling Association Inc.
